I just wanted to take a moment out of this rainy, yet blessed day, and share with you how grateful I am to live in this beautiful, bountiful, and blessed country.
There are people all over the world praying for the very things that we - I - take for granted. Time and time again I find myself complaining over petty things like :
- I don't have access to the internet because of the storm
- My straightener isn't working
- I am hungry (also known as BORED) and all we have to snack on is crackers and grapefruit juice
- I don't have a place to charge my phone so I can call my family because the hurricane blew my house away
- My hair can't be straightened because I lost my hair to cancer
- I am hungry and my father wont be bringing home food for another week maybe
We call ourselves "profitable," and "lucky." But what we really are is spoiled....
God has blessed this land so immensely, yet we just sit back and say, "Look at me. Look at what I have done. I have mastered the land. Indeed I am master of all. Who needs God? I am my own god..."
Take a moment today to talk to God. Take a moment to praise him, exalt him, lift him up. He is the reason we still have freedom to worship him. But what will happen when we are no longer grateful for that privilege?
