Us Campbell's love our camping. It's something we like to consider a family tradition, and we usually set up our tents somewhere under trees about twice a year. And usually God chooses that time to send us a mini flood. By this time we have our trent digging and tarp set up skills down pat. This time we were headed to Corbin Kentucky and the weather forecast was showing rain. Lots and lots of rain. Although us kids were a little disappointed by the lack of adventure, Mom and Dad opted for a cozy little - and I do mean little - bunkhouse.
If you have never been to Cumberland Falls - also known as the Little Niagara - I highly recommend that you plan a trip. I have no words to describe the awe that I felt while watching millions of gallons of water plummet to the 68 ft deep pool beneath.
Despite the protective roof over our heads to ward off the rain, we had plenty of adventure. We hiked, we hiked in the rain, we rode horses, we swam in Laurel Lake, we went white water rafting on the Cumberland river, roasted marshmallows by the fire, and had fellowship as a family.
Our adventure at Cumberland Falls in Corbin Kentucky was one to remember.
