Hocking HIlls. Hocking County OH

Hocking Hills is like a little bit of Tennessee tucked away in Ohio. After the hustle and bustle of the Summer season, the hill's serene scenery was perfect for soothing a restless soul. Our family had vacationed here once before, ten years ago. I was 7 at the time, so needless to say I didn't remember much. We picked the month of September for our family trip because we had heard that it was the best time to catch the changing of the leaves. Well, was it ever! And we got an extra fun bonus because Reed and Lydia came along! We were exhilarated by the crisp Autumn air as we hiked from our cabin to Ash Cave and Cedar Falls. The kiddos loved exploring Rock House (the interior as well as the exterior). To say that Old Man's Cave was anything less than magical would simply be a diversion from the truth. I wouldn't have been surprised in the least to see a fairy or two dart underneath the stone bridge.  (Also, I didn't know the extent of my fear of heights until I climbed the fire-tower overlook...)
With each trip our family takes together, we get a little closer. I can't begin to describe how thankful I am for the adventures we all get to have together.
