Storytelling:

A twig snapped under his boot and the man flinched. He hoped that the girl hadn’t heard the noise.  Her peaceful face showed no signs of acknowledgement to his presence. He gripped the colt strapped to his thigh. The girl’s horse bobbed his head up and down, catching the big man’s scent in the soft breeze. He prayed hard that the horse wouldn’t alert his rider to his being there.  He stayed behind the large tree, watching and waiting, until the dark sky began to show shades of orange and pink as the sun rose into the sky little by little, a big orange ball of light. The girl’s face shone radiantly from the light of the sun. Her unruly hair lay about her like a pillow of soft silk. Her long skirt was arranged over her legs as to only show the very tip of her boot. Her hands were folded under her head, making her look like a sleeping angel. Her eyelids began to flutter and then opened, revealing dark brown, glittery eyes. She blinked and began to sit up. The man slipped quietly into the retreating shadows.

Temps!

Today I had fun. I had a lot of fun. I went to get my TEMPS! I am so exited. Driving is totally different than what it looks like - it is more fun too. All of my brothers and sisters are half scared to death that I am going to run them off the road. I am doing my best not to give them a reason to think so, although in the future I will more than likely give them heart attacks accidently on purpose:) So all I can say to everyone is "Watch Out!" because here I come;)

My Big Brother Is Getting Married!

So after two years of courting Lydia my big brother has asked her to marry him. It was all so sweet. Although my older sister, Ellie, and Lydia had known one another through CEF Reed and Lydia officially met at a home school volleyball game in January, 2009. For the longest time all they did was glance in the anthers direction. We played volleyball almost every week so... they continually stared from one week to another - from across the volleyball court. Conveniently, Reed became good friends with Lydia's older brother. The story goes on from there. In August, Reed went with Lydia and her family on a vacation to Myrtle Beach. At Sunset one night he pulled out at ring popped the question. Of course she said yes. So about after two years courting, they were officially engaged.
The wedding is 3 days from now and I am sooooo exited. I love them both very much and I hope that they have a very wonderful wedding - not to mention Marriage :)
Do they look cute or am i just saying that because i'm his sister????

Operation: Homeless

The following is quoted from my friend, Justin Dickerson, straight from his flyer Operation:Homeless
Six weeks on the streets of Dayton... To become a message
to the rejected, the hurting, the outcast.
...To preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of the sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are oppressed.
Like 4:18
What is Operation: Homeless?
For the longest time, I (Justin Dickerson) have been wanting to preach the gospel and minister to the homeless sub-culture. Operation Homeless is a title for a journey into another world where suffering people live and survive in poverty. The beginning date has been set for December 19th. Though the actual time taken on this journey is uncrtain, a six week period was chosen to discover the homeless world. During this time I will leave my belongings and home behind to live on the streets of downtown Dayton Ohio. While in a state of homelessness, my mission will be to better understand the community of suffering people who would most often reject the gospel from those who live comfortable lives. Of course this approach to ministry is not necessary to reach these people. God can use anyone of any lifestyle to do his work. However God has called me to make the sacrifice of my comforts and wants in order to become a better witness for the sake of Jesus. Many of those in a state of awry conditions seek only their temporary remedy to their immediate needs, or, addictions. It has become difficult to reach someones eternal soul for Christ when all they see you as is another comfortable Christian who doesn't really care about them on a deep level, in order to reach this deep level of care, I hope to become as if I was one of them. What I have to Offer is not a temporary fix to their state of desperation, but a cry of hope for eternal salvation through Jesus Christ.
During these six week, or however God should lead me,I will carry Basic Necessities; involve myself in activities that an ordinary homeless person would; educate myself in the community of homeless and poverty stricken; and preach the Gospel in word and deed to whomever God should send my way. During these few weeks I will stay in contact with godly men and women who can exhort and keep me accountable. Working with existing programs and ministries that are active in serving the homeless will also be an objective.
The Risks And Dangers Of Savage Streets And The Criminal Underworld
The Concern about the safety of being homeless is very real and important. The streets of Dayton are known for Being hostile to many who are not used to living a poor city lifestyle. Dayton hosts an eminent racial tension involving violence and even homicide on a frequent basis. Most homeless people are under the influence of drugs, alcohol and tobacco. But weather those in this sub-culture are seeking hostility or just a glimpse of hope, God's power and sustenance is still greater. I put my trust in Christ first and foremost. Yes the risks are evident, and the absurdity of such an undertaking would seam altogether overpowering. But as I follow Jesus, who Himself was homeless, I can only hope that I can better understand the ministry of Jesus and those He cane to die for. If I would suffer in any way, God will take notice, and permit safety as He desires. Again to be a minister of the Gospel is not a calling that comes easy. I can expect hardships, but I can also expect the Hand of God.
The greatest threat during the operation may not be violence, but suffering through the elements. Starting the mission in the dead of winder is nothing short of difficult. But many factors were considered when choosing the time and duration for the project. During the journey I will visit local churches, soup kitchens and homeless shelters when needed.
How You Can Help
Prayer is, of course, your greatest tool and gift of service. Remember, this is all about Jesus. God is the One who does the work, I just get to be a part of what he is doing. Please pray that I will stay in God's will and be sensitive to his desires. Please pray for wisdom and guidance, the most powerful way you can be a part of this ministry. and finally, prayer for opportunities to spread the Gospel is of much appreciation.
More than 3.6 million people in the U.S. experience homelessness every year
Dayton Ohio has an approximated 8000 homeless persons right now
Roughly 83% of homeless people are under the influence of drugs, alcohol, and/or tobacco and smoking
68% of cities reporting in the 2010 Mayer's Report had to turn away homeless families because of a lack of available shelter beds
42%of all homeless children are under the age of 6
Nearly 60% of Americans will spend at least one year below the poverty line at some point between the ages of 25-75
Unemployed persons in the United States increased 59.9% between 2008 and 2009

Talking To Long Lost Friends

After quit a few years of our families not seeing one another, last July, for my brother and sisters graduation, I got to see some very good friends. we used to be neighbors and had the most fun ever together. then sadly they moved. not far, but we were not able to see them as much as we wanted. after the graduation, we went out of touch again. but then, a few weeks ago the Lord laid it on my heart to write them, they responded to my letter and since then we have been writing by snail mail. it has been a great blessing to hear from them.
thank you all for being so kind to sit and read my random ramblings, that is if you are still reading:)
love you all very much...

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to Y'all:)

I don't know about you all, but I think I had the best Christmas known to all 14 year girls. I also had a very nice good year, while every one else was counting down, my best friend and I went into another room and prayed the new year in. I am so blessed to have a friend like her, she has stuck with me through thick and thin, and always points my wayward eyes back to Christ, my Redeemer and Savior. we met about 7 years ago and ever since then, there is nothing I can't trust her with. thx girly for always bein there for me. God bless you in the coming year.

A couple of days ago I sent an essay into the 2011 essay contest that Vision Forum is hosting. the winner will get $1,000. I know I don't seem like much for all those money makers out there, but it was enough to get my attention, LOL. I am nervas but also doubtful. I am a very amature writer, and not experianced enough to go pro any time soon (although I don't think there are any "pro" writers, I think they are called authers:) but my older bro did say it was a nice story, but I think he was just being nice, as he often is.

well, anyways, I won't bore any of you any more. God bless you in this coming year.
